Rep Power: 18 | | Depends on your goals. If your goals are weight loss and muscle maintenance you can do it with no equipment at all. If you would like to build some muscle and improve overall strength you can get quite a long way with body weight exercises. I saw great results following a body weight only routine for about 3 months. My goals changed a little though and so I joined a gym. I still devote time to body weight exercises though. |

I do not want to be a body builder or anything like that. I am overweight now so I just want to look and feel good. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I have exrecise equipment at home but i wouldn't call it a gym. A running machine, LTT stepper thing, weights, weight machine, one of those things that to hit in the shape of a man and its got lights on it etc
most of its my mums and bothers but i have been using some of it to help me lose some weight.
I would never buy this stuff myself its just becuase its there that i use it. If you have some steps and arnt scared to go running you could easily lose weight without anything. I would buy a small set of weights (like jogging ones) just to add a bit of... something which i cant think of lol |

Rep Power: 0 | | | There is this guy who posts workouts via YouTube. He lost weight the old-fashioned way, pretty much the only way that works. Anyway, he uses his bodyweight. He does use some equipment, but mostly he got very inventive in ways to get a good workout, like for instance using his door frames and stuff. As far as I know, he doesn't sell anything, he posts all this stuff for free, so I guess maybe it is okay to post his name here (Arnel). You can probably just search it on YouTube. When viewing his website, I only saw mostly guys following his workouts, so I just thought it was too intense for me. I haven't visited his site in a long time so I don't know if he gives nutritional advice or not.
I have a treadmill, exercise ball, 5 and 10 lb handweights, bands that came with the ball and someone is giving me one of those little portable steppers. My favorite is the swimming pool, though. Just playing around with the kids for an hour can burn just as many calories as the 30 minutes I put into the treadmill. |

I am a home woker-outter... I can't afford a gym membership and frankly I feel that I can get just as a good workout in with free weights. I also am a DVD junkie! Depending on your goals there are plently of workout DVDs that can get you to where you wanna be.
Cheers,
MissD |

I am planning on buying a cross trainer and a multi gym. That mixed with a reasonably healthy diet should help me lose weight.
I havent chosen the exact multi gym and cross trainer that I want yet but below some images of them: |

My hubby is a qualified personal trainer so he just tells me a few different things to do each night. All i use is a fit ball, 5 kg hand weights and a yoga mat.
You could look into getting some exercise dvds with that kind of equipment to help guide you with your home gym.
Make sure you are doing some cardio as well. You will still be able to lose weight just as effectively if you do the right exercises. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Ok I have decided that I might not get the multi gym as I dont know how to use them and I just want to get slimmer and in shape, not toned.
Would anyone with experience know if just 30 minutes of cross training a day is enough to lose fat? |

Rep Power: 6 | | i have a total gym, but i really dont use it like i should, so i couldnt tell you if it works or not, its not even mine really, lol. Im not really close to a gym so i run outside for my cardio and do pilates. I know that when i have used the total gym i really felt my muscles working, and they were burning afterwards. I dont know much about weight lifting and such.....but i do know that you obviously dont have to go to the gym to do cardio, its much funner outside anyway....... | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
