So, I am jumping back on the wagon, and in doing so, I am changing my
exercise routine.
Here is what it was before....
Sundays and Wednesdays
10 minutes shooting hoops
30 minutes elliptical
10 more minutes shooting hoops
Fridays and Tuesdays
10 minutes shooting hoops
Machine
Weights only (9 in total, ranging from Bicep Curls to Shoulder Presses to Leg Press)
30 minutes elliptical
Here is what I want to do now...
Tuesdays and Saturdays
30 minutes elliptical (possibly with a five minute warmup on the bike)
Sundays and Thursdays
Dumbbell
exercises
30 minutes elliptical (possibly with a five minute warmup)
The dumbbell
exercises I'm looking to do are located here.....

There are a few reasons I am changing...
*First, I'm working now, so I don't have the time I did earlier over a two month break I took between school and work.
*Second, I think I overexerted myself, so I think I came to resent it. Therefore I'm trying to create a lean, efficient routine.
*Third, at work, there is a
fitness room with a few machine
exercises and ellipticals (plus other
cardio). At my apartment, the
fitness center (which is literally across the street), has some ellipticals (and other
cardio), and only dumbbells. With this, I don't think there is much value-add in having a
gym membership anymore.
I also feel that if I get my own dumbbells, I'll be more willing to do
strength training, since I can multitask, and then just use the
fitness center for a half hourish
cardio workout.
Would this work? Also, what if I do
cardio/strength non-consecutively? What I mean by that, is do
cardio when I get back from work (or before I leave), and then have dinner, relax for a bit, and then later at night do some dumbbell
exercises while I'm watching TV or something.
Also, I am a 6'1, 22 yr old, 223 lb male, looking to build more muscle/tone and burn about 20-25 llbs more of
fat.
Sorry for the long post. Any advice would be appreciated!!
