Rep Power: 0 | | | Jillian Michaels? I was hoping to get some input about Jillian Michaels 30 day shred or cardio kickbox dvds? I've heard good and bad things about them... Most of the bad things were about her personality though and I think I can handle a bad personality if it's a good workout. Also heard that most of the strength stuff in the 30 day shred is just push ups and I don't like that...
anyway, any reviews would be awesome!! |

Rep Power: 7 | | | No clue. But I found some copies of her workouts on Amazon and they're cheap, so I'm buying them. If I don't like them...I'll still do them anyways. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Hey- I have Jillian Michaels' "The Biggest Winner" 5 disc set. I really like the workouts, and you can find the whole set for pretty cheap on Amazon. I would have to say her personality is the worst part about them, she's kind of obnoxious. Other than that, they're some of my favorite work out DVDs, I'd reccommend giving them a try. Hope this helps =]

Rep Power: 182 | | My opinion of Bob and Jillian is that they're idolized for no good reason. They're handed obese people who have hundreds of pounds to lose on a national stage. Said people are put in a boot camp and for the most part forced to lose weight in spite of the trainers.
Put most anyone in that setting and they're going to lose a ton of weight. There's no choice.
Yet Jillian and Bob are viewed as magic by most.
If you like them for their personalities as celebrities... great. If you respect and trust them b/c of their super duper training powers... I'd reassess. |

Rep Power: 6 | | | you make a good point Steve... i guess i just love her personality first of all, but as far as her abilities as a trainer she uses the fundamentals just like most non-celebrity trainers now that i really think about it.. |

I'd love to sit down with her and actually speak trainer to trainer. That's the only way you'd ever really know if she knows her stuff or not.
As far as her personality goes; it's not for everyone. But it does sit well with a lot of people and I suppose that's why she has the job she has. I see no problem with that. Those trainers were picked more for their looks and celebrity potential than their abilities if you ask me. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I have the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred dvd and it's a tough workout. It has 3 levels of increasing difficulty and I'm still on level one. The first day I did it, I sweated like a pig and could barely keep up. The next day my muscles were extremely sore and it took a couple days for the pain to go away, but now I have no soreness at all after doing it.
I've been at it for about a week and a half now and my endurance is improving a good deal and I'm already able to do full lunges and squats instead of the modified "beginner" version. I still sweat like pig though, lol. I personally love the dvd and its a staple in my workout schedule. I do it 3-4 times a week.
The strength part is not just pushups. In level one, you only do 2 sets of pushups at the very beginning of the workout. There are chest flys, back exercises, side lunges with weights, jumping jacks, jump rope, "butt kicks", punches, 3 different kinds of crunches to target all the abs and of course, there are squats (and I'm probably forgetting something). She follows a 3-2-1 pattern of 3 minutes strength training, 2 minutes cardio and 1 minute of ab work. There are no rests in between and it moves quickly.
