I desprately need some hlelp! I am so discuraged and upset.
I feel like no matter what I do I am not losing weight.

As it is im taking 45 min of step arobics 3 times a week + mild weight lifting.
I have been trying to watch what I eat and nothing seems to be happening. Iv been doing this for the last month.

I was hopping I would lose like 2-3lbs a week...
But iv GAINED weight since I started. Some times I just feel this is something that incredible people do, and im not incredible. I have 70lbs to lose and Its hard for me to even lose 5.

I completely know that feeling. It took me forever to finally start losing weight. Sometimes I think you just have to give it a little while to get your metabolism going again. Which reminds me, have you ever had a test on your thyroid? Before I got my levels normal with medication, I wasn't able to lose weight no matter what I did. Also, how often do you eat? If you eat small meals every few hours, it really seems to help. Good luck and stick with it!

you also have to drink tons of water. about your step aerobics, unless your heart rate is in the aerobic range thats right for you, it will do no good. how many calories are you consuming daily? that is something else to look at.

One thing you should do is try and drink during your work outs. I take a 32oz bottle of water with me to the gym and finisht hat off in my cardio work outs! Give it a try.. Also try adding some diffferent cardio classes along with your step class to mix it up and challenge your body more!

what's your diet look like? how many calories? breakdown, etc?

i started using www.fitday.com it is free and it was helpful to check and see calorie contents and i was surprised by some 'makeups' of food that i thought i knew were good for you and good to lose weight.

You'll get there...but you do need to drink lots of water, keep up the cardio and weights, but at NL said, i'd try a different cardio once or twice a week...

but also, caloric count is important....so maybe if you dont mind sharing, we can help from there..

You can learn to drink the water. Of course it's hard. I used to drink hardly any, and now I drink a gallon a day.

I recommend talking to a personal trainer and/or nutritionist. Someone with experience could help you create a plan that meets your needs and is right for you.

Keep in mind that 2-3 pounds a week is a LOT. It's actually not a good idea to lose 3 pounds a week. Fast weight loss tends to come with a rebound. Slow weight loss tends to stay off. 1-2 pounds is a healthier goal.

Try some shorter, higher intensity cardio as well for variety. Your body has probably gotten really used to your aerobics class.

I'm a trainer, so if you need a few suggestions feel free to drop me a line.

Sarah

Thank you for the sugestions.
I've been doing some reading these past few days about what fitness models do.
I read that its not too safe to lose more then 2 lbs a week because then you are more likly to be losing lean muscle mass too.
I think im adicted to sugar. I can do just fine most of the day. Some times i get super sugar cravings. It sucks. anyone know how to get over sugar?

Arrow Sugar Withdrawl

I used to be a sugar addict too. I drank about 10 cans of regular soda a day and I'd have mad cravings for dessert late at night. I started by drinking sugar-free cool aid, it is really sweet but has no sugar, then I went to crystal light. Also, in instances where you are actually adding sugar to something, like cereal or coffee or baking, try using Splenda. I use a combination of it and cinnamon in my oatmeal in the morning and it tastes just like sugar. When I first came off of sugar and caffinated drinks, I had headaches for a couple of days, but some tylenol fixed that. After about two weeks, I didn't have the cravings anymore, and let me tell you it is a great feeling. Good luck with everything...you can do it!

Cutting out the sugar almost completely was the single best thing I did this try around. For every grain of sugar you consume, you will crave another. And its all about consuming less calories than you burn. All it would take is a 2 liter of pop a day instead of several glasses of water, to completely ruin your diet and gain weight instead.
