I enjoy an actual "gym" experience every now and then...I utilize the gym at my complex which is very well equipped to supplement my Curves workout, but I don't want to work out around a building full of men just yet. That's the biggest perk for me.

I was going to a Ladies' Fitness, which was a "gym" for 2 years, 4 times a week and didn't see anywhere near the results I have now and I've only been at Curves since April. Maybe it was that particular gym or the trainer I had, but I'm sticking with Curves. I'm 11.50 pounds lighter and over 24 inches smaller...I'm sticking with Curves.

Not knocking Bally's though...I may move to a convential gym one day myself but it'll be a while. Have fun at Bally's.

I loved curves but I used to work there and everyone got mean. It was really bad so I ended up quiting the job and the workout. Curves though is nice but the employees around where I was where mean. It's totally a good workout though.

Going to Curves again felt so good. I got such a good workout and the employees now are so nice and friendly. They waived the sign-up fee and I only pay $29 dollars a month to go. I plan on going everyday and to continue walking.

Hello my Curves sista!!! I'm really happy that you had a good work out yesterday and more importantly, that you really enjoyed it. I LOVE going because we are so silly in there, those ladies have become my very good friends. That's what makes Curves so special to me, when you find one where the people really care about one another it's the GREATEST!

Keep having fun!

I was a member of Curves before and I'm about to join again. It really does help, the weight started shedding off in no time. I didn't eat anything special or watch my calories that much, and I only worked out 3 days a week, and I dropped 20lbs within a month and a half or two months.

I actually can't wait to join again (I'm joining tomorrow), it's sooo fun, and I really feel energized after I leave.

I only paid 30 dollars a month too. It was actually 99 dollars for 3 months. They have a lot of specials too. So watch out for those.

Does curves allow you to pay a fee for individual visits? I really need to get a workout, but I only have time in my schedule to go on Saturdays. I think for only four times a month the whole price just isn't worth it.

No I don't think so, but don't quote me. The theory is that you work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes so I would doubt that you could pay a prorated fee for only one day per week. They do have specials all the time and you could get a week (sometimes 2) or a month even sometimes for free and just see how you like it if you're curious, but I doubt you'll be able to prorate.

Curves , I looked into it-2 things I didn't like, the high sign up fee plus monthy fee and the fact that it's a franchise and the owners of each Curves just goes and takes some classes in order to run the gym , if I'm paying that much I'd rather have a real nutritionist and trainer telling me what to do.

If I remember correctly you had two choices on diets either low carb or low calorie- calorie one is the one I would've went with - it was something like 1st two weeks your limited to 1200 calories a day and they slowly upgrade after the two weeks. I also didn't like how they give no info on their site or over the phone. But this is coming from a very picky person so I know not everyone feels the way I do.

Does any Curves user do additional workouts too? I love my 30 minute workouts, I can feel my muscles working hard on those machines, but I'm wondering if I should add walking or aerobics as well. Does anyone else do this??

I walk 2 miles twice a week...and do Curves 3 days a week. Well, now 2 days a week b/c I had to give up my Friday in order to take my daughter to her tennis lessons. I used to be real hard core about my strength training too, would do that on my walking days in the evening. I was real gung ho when I first started. I was doing everything and was going to Curves 5 days a week.

I think walking + Curves is a very nice combination that yields great results.
