800 calories a day and 1 and a half hours of tennis?

Hey everyone, I'm Stephanie. I'm 5'6 and trying to lose weight. Currently, I'm 126 pounds and I want to go to 110 or even less if possible. Ideally, it's the waist, hips, and thighs that I want to slim down. I've started a new routine today where I eat 800 calories per day and play tennis for 90 mins. We do a lot of running, so it's a lot of cardio (suicides, sprints, laps... etc.). I don't mind muscle, but I do mind fat.

So how long will it take me to see a difference, or at least the scale to change? If I'm going to stick to this routine, what kinds of food should I eat to not hurt my body too much?

Also, on a website it said that my maintenance would be 1917 and fat loss range would be around 1150 - 1534. This is a little sketchy, though, because I can't accurate in my exercise info.

Thank you.

eat.more.calories.
800 is WAAAAAAY too low.

Read the stickies, especially nutrition and you'd see that 1,200 is still pushin too low.

Yup. 800 calories is a starvation diet and will eventually slow your metabolism to a point that you stall out on weight loss. Not to mention you simply CANNOT get the nutrients that your body needs at 800 calories - especially with the amount of working out that you're doing.

Ok, next comment: 5'6" and 126 lbs is smack dab in the middle of normal weight. 110 lbs or lower at 5'6" is too low. Unhealthily low. If you aren't happy with how your body looks at this weight, then I would suggest working out - weights and cardio - and building some muscle so that you look fit and lean. You do NOT need to lose more weight.

I'd say if you're working out hard, you should probably be eating around 2000 calories a day. Eat lots of lean protein, veggies, some healthy fat, and complex carbs (i.e. whole grains, not processed white stuff).
