I have just started a round of P90X and I'm on day 3. I am so sore already! This workout is great and I can't wait for day 90 to see my results. Everyone else I that that has used it has gotten fantastic results. I just want to see if there is anyone else here doing P90X or thinking about doing it. Thoughts, comments, questions? Feel free to give me your input.
great for a beginner and those who have no clue about exercise if your goal is to try something to lose body fat. but it pales in comparison to an actual gym workout. and is completely useless imo if your goal is any real significant strength or power gain.
have you actually done P90X? Because I've played soccer my whole life and have had intense workouts for soccer and P90X is right up there with them. They kick my butt every time. And yes, this program is not to get huge and bulky, but rather to gain lean body mass and get "ripped" or "toned"
ive also played soccer all my life and got my p90x about 2 weeks ago, i've almost finished with my first week and i gotta say i already love it. i've lost 3 lbs this week and i love the way it pushes me to my limits. the only one i have had a problem with was the yoga x it kicked my but! tonight i get to do kempo x and so excited for it. so good luck to everybody here whos doing it. and if your thinking about it it, do it you'll love. i swear.
P90x is no joke. If you are just starting out you may want to take the JV course first(Power90). Oh yeah guys don't forget to get your suppliments. They well greatly reduce muscle soreness after workout. I know this because I use and sell these products. I am an independent Beachbody Coach. PM me if you want info on how to become one too!
It's good as far as prepackaged workouts go. If you're not knowledgeable enough to construct your own strength training routines given your individual goals and are looking for "general fitness" improvements without going to the gym, have at it.
If you're interested in more, I'd suggest finding some good books and knowledgeable people to shine some light on programming and specificity in relation to particular goals.
From what I've seen of their nutrition advice, it's lacking to say the least.
Hey everyone...Great site... I have just finished my first month of P90X...I find it great...I watch what i eat.....I lost 12lbs....toned up a lot...prob dropped a pant size in about 8 days...I'm doing the lean program....I figure I'll finish that then unto the classic program..
I was thinking of trying it out, but after seeing the chest and back CD, my jaw just fell. It looked like 30 minutes of pushups and chinups! I couldn't even do a single push-up (I'm female) properly. Plus, the supplements just seemed to expensive. Do I really have to take those? I also have the bands and the chin up bar.
I'm not in as good shape as I'd like, but I could do a 30 min jog, and I used to think I was stronger than the average females I knew. I'm still thinking of doing it, though. Any tips/advice for a female P90X wannabe/wannatry?

I would personally never tell anyone not to purchase P90X, well done properly it works ... as advertised ... Period.
The Supplements are specifically designed to work hand in hand with the program, and I highly recommend using them to assist in your performance as well as recovery. Ans speaking of recovery I would also recommend the P90X recovery drink, Its is a must simply because of the soreness factor, different work outs 6 days a week, your body never truly gets used to it. So drink plenty of water and drink the recovery drink within 15 minutes of completing the workout.
As far as the comment from Jynus, until you have actually done a P90X workout I would hold your opinion, As a Former Marine I have done several different styles of workouts from Martial Arts to Hard Core Weight lifting and Nothing compares to P90X, I personally know Team Beachbody Coaches that have opened Gyms and MMA training studios and use P90X and the workout of choice to gain strength, agility and flexibility.
If you simply want to wear a tshirt and have Huge arms and have peeps thing your AWESOME because your arms are big, P90X is not for you. P90X is a complete Fitness and Nutrition Lifestyle that when you truly become a product of the product you will get fit, you will get stronger, and you will add years to your life.

obvious p90x plant. even more obvious when you hear BS like "the suppliments are designed to work hand in hand with the program" Oh really, are they now? Oh please tell me what specific parts of the supplements are different from regular supplements to make them "hand in hand". Or why you would even recommend supplements in the first place when anyone who is actually in the industry should know that 99% of supps are garbage.
bottom line is if you have access to a gym, p90x in terms of programs is not very good. Starting strength, Westside for skinny bastards 3, crossfit, will ALL give you way better gains in all aspects of training than p90x will. period. p90x i would only recommend to someone who has no access to a gym and is a beginner to training resistance.
P.S. Your comment about big arms and t-shirt represent a bigoted stigma towards lifters that really has no basis in reality. I would prefer you keep strawman arguments out of this.
Hey everyone,
I ordered P90X like 4 months ago. Started it for a week and then stopped. Not that the workouts were too much for me, I just can't stay motivated to do them. I have a two year old son and and am opening two new buisnesses. How do you find the time and stay motivated? I REALLY want to lose my extra baby weight and get back to 140lb. I am at 170lb now. 30lb doesn't seem like much, but I can't get it off.
I will admit that I've never done it and I don't know a lot about it, but I personally don't see why I would ever pay $140 for the same information I could get from a $15 book at Barnes & Noble and a little effort on my own to research and learn.
That's just me. I tend to be skeptical of anything that requires you to shell out money - especially money for "nutritional supplements".
