Rep Power: 0 | | | Ok, so I need LOTS of help Alright, I'm 19 now. Been overweight since I was like erm..13 and lived a pretty unhealthy lifestyle through all my teen years and I excercise rarely. But I decided its time to change all that now and I've began excercising and I'm planning to stay commited to it, but I got a few questions.
Ok, well first of all, I'm not obese, though I am overweight and I have quite a lot of flab on my belly and I have moobs .
So far what I've been doing for the past 2 days is power walking on my treadmill for about half an hour, because thats all I can take, and I switch up from jogging to power walking.. But more with the power walks because I get out of breath when I jog too much (I am also a heavy smoker)... So is power walking a good way to start it off? because I am really really unfit, and I thought its best to start out slow and gain stamina before doing full jogs.
And another thing is how the fuck do I get rid of the moobs? if I lose weight through power walking/jogging does that mean the moobs go away or they just become saggy because the skin becomes loose? how do I get about getting rid of them.. thats my priority I suppose.
I am not planning to join a gym...YET, because I think I wanna jsut get in shape before joining one, thats why I'm planning on just doing power walks/jogging for some weeks/months before finally joining a gym..good idea?
Anyway, please feel free to give me more tips, I think I will need them. |

Rep Power: 72 | | First bit of advice ... read the sticky posts in the forums - especially the ones in the nutrition and exercise forums. There's a lot of good info there and it'll give you a place to get started.
Next ... exercise is good, but what you eat is 80% of the battle or more. You can exercise until you pass out, but if you're not eating healthily, you won't lose weight. Sign up with one of the free services like fitday.com or thedailyplate.com and start logging your food. Figure out how many calories you need to be eating to be healthy and then make sure you're getting a reasonable split of carbs, protein, and healthy fats (a lot of people work with a 40/30/30 split, which is a nice place to start).
Finally ... this: Quote: |
I think I wanna jsut get in shape before joining one,
| ... makes utterly no freakin' sense. You want to be in shape before you join a gym to .. uh ... get in shape? So if you get in shape first, then what's the point of joining the gym?
Join the gym. Start lifting weights now. Lifting weights from the beginning means you'll be minimizing lean muscle loss and you'll get the saggy/flabby bits back in shape much faster than if you just cut calories and run/walk.
Again, read the sticky posts. There's a lot you're missing .. and the posts will help you out! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | all you have to do try to keep you out of bad eating habits. Do not imitate the culture of eating while watching TV, or buy food at the drive-through, as this will only make you unconscious eating, and want to eat more. In contrast, other countries cultures take a more positive, such as eating together or do not eat while doing other activities.
No eating while watching TV. Eating while watching TV, or buy fast food meal at the drive through (to be enjoyed while driving) is a bad side to American culture.
Or you can do ...eat together. Eat with friends or family certainly more fun than eating alone in the car, on the desk, or in the shop. Togetherness not only make food more delicious, but also slimming. "You'll eat more slowly, which increases satiety before you eat more."
Eat only when needed. Americans eat a variety of reasons other than hunger, the boredom, loneliness, stress, or fear. If stress reasons, better switch to meditation or yoga. i'm sorry if my english not good enough...ihope you make your habits change.....c.u | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
