I wouldn't trust the figures on the
treadmill. Unless it is measuring your
heart rate and taking into consideration your weight, age, and so forth, then there's no way to get a reading that is worth paying attention to.
Most people burn around 400
calories an hour doing moderate to intense
cardio. That's an ESTIMATE, mind you, but tends to be about right for most people.
However, I wouldn't worry about how many
calories you burn exercising. I'd make sure to eat healthily and let the exercise
calories be a bonus.
