body fat and abs

my current target goal is six-pack abs

my stomach has a body fat percentage of 10% and is low enough to have a visible six-pack, i currently have no muscle in my stomach right now

im starting to do cardio of one hour on the treadmill at 4mph to make my body fat percentage even lower and doing crunches too

will the cardio im doing make me lose my ab muscles?!?

workitout is on a distinguished road
Hey,

I'm not an expert, i'm just giving my opinion, but i dont believe the cardio you are doing is causing you not to see your abs. Not everyone can get the 6 pack abs, I know that all that depends on gentics too, but i know if you watch your diet, and make sure to do a variety of exercise that will work your stomach muscle, your ab muscle will definetly get stronger. i know if you do like step aberoics(didnt spell that right) lol, they have alot of moves that can always work your abs as well as get ur heart rate up, and burn overall cals. Hope that helped just a little. :-)

Nicole

You need to change up your diet. Eat lower fatty foods.

Yeah, we all know fatty foods are the enemy. Damn, fatty fish must be the worst food for you in the world!

Ehh...If your not eating to support growth don't hope for a nice ripped abs. To build muscle you "need" to be in a calorie surplus. This excess of calories allows for the body to encourage growth of muscular tissue(so being there is proper resistance being exercted on an annual basis to further encourage growth). If your just doing crunches and running allot while attempting to lower your BF% (loose weight) don't expect to have "bulging, jacked" abs when you reach a lower bF.

in other words... If you don't have solid abs now at 10%. You won't have them when your resting on a skinny 7%.

Haha - I didn't even notice that. I'm just going through threads since last visit (over 20 pages of them!)

Moblacks post was new so I just figured this was a new thread .
