Rep Power: 0 | | Why would you want to lose that much weight in 5 months?? Besides surgery, I think exercise is the only way to do it, but you have to do it A LOT, and its not recommended by most people. If you don't want to go to the gym, try buying an exercise tape and doing that. Richard Simmons is about the best thing that I have found that's easy for all weights to do, and it really works. You can also join Curves, which is for woman of all sizes, and they're really supportive. Again though, that's a lot of weight to lose in such a short period of time. It can be unhealthy, and it can make you skin really sag. |

Rep Power: 0 | | You shouldn't lose weight to impress a guy, you should lose weight for yourself. Besides if the guy doesn't like you for you, then maybe you shouldn't want to be with him.
And I agree with Clear. Not eating is definitely a way to add on the pounds. Get a diet and exercise plan that's healthy and realistic, and do that.
Good luck. |

Let me tell you FROM EXPERIENCE that by starving yourself or trying to make yourself throw up.. it won't work. Your body is designed to retain fat during a time of famine so if you stop eating, you may lose weight at first, but then it will STOP. Also, your stomach acid can hurt your stomach if you dont eat or your whole digestive track if you throw up a lot. If you starve long enough, your stomach will become intollerable to food.
You can definately lose weight at home, thats what I'm doing. I got a tred mill someone else was getting rid of (the fad went out ) and I also bought a home gym that was on sale for like $120. Great investment! And it will all last forever, and if you don't like it, you can resell it. Or just get a few free weights and take the dog for walks around the neighborhood. But you don't have to get bored! If it snows where you live, buy a pair of wooden snowshoes and hike with them or go to a local lake and rent a boat and row for a while. Put your weights in your basement, so you'll have privacy if you dont like the gym
Also, don't lose weight to impress a guy, do it for yourself. If he likes you for your body and not your personality, dump him
He should support you if you want to lose weight. |

Ive been on a diet of 1200-1500 calories (if you're a guy try 1800-2300) per day and exercising about an hour to an hour and half 4 times a week. Plus throwing in generally being more active (going swimming on weekends and cycling to work etc)
Ive lost over 75 lbs at a safe level in 4-5 months. The first bit will drop off very quickly and leave you loosing anything from 1-4lb a week. Depending on the food you eat (eatings more vegs makes you loose faster, as well as drinking heaps of water) is how much you loose.
The workout i do is 20mins cardio on a cycle or rowing machine etc (lower impact than running) then 30-40 mins of weights (1lb of muscle mass burns up to 60 calories a day extra without even using it), then another 20 mins cardio.
Sign up to somewhere like fitday, com to measure what you're eating and working out. You dont have to be too details - but its good to get a general idea measurement of how much and what you want to loose.
I possibly could have lost more - i fell off my bike and was unable to workout for a couple weeks due to broken ribs (I still lost a couple lb per week whilst sitting on my ass ... thank you muscle mass!)
So while 100lb may be hard to loose in 5 months, you should be able to sucessfully stick not to far off it |

Rep Power: 79 | | BTW - re the calories , dont go under the 1200(female) or 1800(male) if at all possible otherwise your body will go into starvation mode and slow down and you wont loose anything
See the link in my sig for a more details overview in what im doing and explainations. |

Rep Power: 217 | | in five months, if you follow a sensible eating plan and exercise (that can be as simple as walking on a regular basis) you could be close to 1/2 way towards your goal... that's a lot closer than you are today and it's going about it ina healthy way... |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I don't think you'd want to lose weight too quickly, otherwise you'll just put it back on. Something I've learnt the hard way. So now I'm exercising and eating properly and it's starting to come off. I think being realistic is the best way to be!
