Absolutely! I was just replying in one of your other posts how jealous I was of your access to horses. Both are a great workout. Our very own Wishes has lost a BUNCH of weight and she's a cycle maniac...I mean that in the most positive way possible. And as for the horseback riding, it is GREAT for legs and for your core (abs and back) especially.

As far as I'm concerned, nothing is better for weight loss than cycling.

I enjoy it but it makes my booty hurt.

Yeah, mine too actually. Most people who have that problem have a saddle that doesn't fit right, their bike isn't fitted to them properly, or they haven't put enough miles in. My problem is that although my hips aren't wide like you would think when I tell you this, my sit bones are really far apart. Basically most any bike seat I sit on my sit bones go over the edges halfway and the leverage puts alot of pressure on those points. I've been trying different wide seats that are still racing oriented recently and those help. So yeah, don't let saddle pain discourage you, go to a local bike shop and see if they can help. Often times a few adjustments or worse case scenario a $50 wider saddle is all you need.
