Hey everyone, I was wondering what all of your favorite videos/dvds are and what kind of results you got from them. I have a little one at home and it's not always possible to get to the gym so I'm looking for some fun workout videos that I won't get bored of. I have Walk Away The Pounds(it's pretty good), Carmen Electra's Strptease(fun, but not very aerobic), Billy Banks Tae Bo(Kicks my ass and I usually end up ending early). Let me know what all your favorites are. Have a great day everyone!
I have the Shape DVDs offered through Shape magazine.
I don't enjoy them much because I'm not very coordinated, and they are very dance-based. I usually end up looking like a drunk Gumby when I try to do them, so I just don't. Too much crossing over, and flapping your arms like a chicken. I get confused and end up going the wrong way, too. It's pretty sad, really.
But I'm sure they are good if you're coordinated enough for them.
I like Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds" DVDs. They are mostly walking in place, but you do things like side steps and kicks, and you use free weights for parts of the workouts. I have the set that has 1, 2, and 3 mile walks but I think she has other DVDs too. They are a really good workout and REALLY easy to follow..I never get confused.
Hi- I've been using Core Rhythms. It's a fun workout and they have these educational sequences you can access right from the workout. I used to always give up cuz I couldn't figure out the moves- but this video makes it very easy. The workout is a lot of fun and you really move around to great Latin music!!!

thanks for this! this looks right up my alley, i think. i love love love to dance, but can't seem to find a video that really keeps me wanting more, so i rotate a lot, but i'm lookin' for more to add to my rotation. thanks so much!
If you want to add some weight training and resistance moves to your workout, I recommend the 'Slim in 6' series. I had 20 pounds to lose, and I lost almost all of it using these videos. They're very easy to follow, and really are a good workout.
Personally I do my own thing for the workout, then I watch a video of something high adrenaline to keep my mind off of it. For example, my workout videos are right here beside me, and they look like this:
The Matrix, all 3, the whole trilogy
three mountain bike videos with music in the background
a snowboarding video
two four wheel drive videos
Rambo
You get the picture. Unless you need instruction, high adrenaline movies that you highly enjoy keep you going better than your typical exercise videos. My bike videos are all 45 minutes long. It's tons easier to put my bike on a trainer in front of the computer and say that I'm going to ride this thing for this entire video, instead of counting this minutes. Time flies by MUCH quicker. I lost 37 pounds one winter by doing this before work in the mornings.
I use the Piladio DVD-Kickbox Pilates. It's a mix of Pilates and cardio and really gives me a great overall workout. The instructor is easy to follow and there are 5 different workouts on the DVD so I don't get bored. (piladio.com)
I have lost a few lbs with it and have definitely noticed definition in my abs--finally starting to get rid of that lower ab-fat

If you go to the website she has a set with 5 or 6 DVD's and one of those step things (plus some other stuff) for like $60 I have been doing her workout for 2 days and I can feel a difference
Hey, I tried Tae bo for a few days and could start to feel the difference. I dont know about the whole weight loss with them yet tho, even though I have heard they work pretty well
