All of this is good to read, it's nice to know if I've been screwing up so that I have the ability to fix it.

So - I generally wake up around 6:30 and hit the trails by 8:30 and have been having my first meal around 10:00. I eat 5 to 6 times a day, so I have plenty of room to move my food around.

Does it matter what I should eat before cardio (carbs vs. protein?) and if so - how many calories (or percentage of daily calories?) should I have?

O Great Wala the enlightened one... please tell me... of those who choose to walk in the path of the "woodchopper" and build great obliques with his sacred twisting motions by the way of crossover cables, of what weight, reps and sets would of most benefit to a student who is 155 and 5'9" and wants to look straight pimp with his honey-magnet abs???

Everyone is different. What may be heavy or light for you, wont be the same for the next person.

Not exactly true, there is an optimal fat burning zone. The thing is, it's not the same for everyone. If you know of a student majoring in a athletic performance field, they could probably test your co2/o2 ratio while exercising and find your optimal hr%. Or if anyone is in fl, i'd be glad to take you to the university, ill even put you in the bod pod for fun! lol

Sounds sexy!! haha I know we all have optimal zones, but I was referring to the morning with no food traditional crappy cardio.

They just don't make me tired as much as I expected. I can put the weight up high enough that my body weight can't hardly budge the weights and still rip out more reps than I had expected. So, it doesn't seem to be on the same level as other exercises where you just increase your weight to the point that it's real hard to do 8-12 reps. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
