I think it's one of those things that once you start dieting and excercising, suddenly the people who don't do that stick out of the crowd.

Sorry to hear about your mum! Well done on the steps. Changes like that will become an ingrained habit in no time.

I have to go to a convention this weekend
    There will be food everywhere
I'm trying to up my motivation to not go nuts on the eating. I should be able to get quite a bit of walking in
And it ends Saturday so I will have until weigh in on Thursday to undo any damage.
All I want this week is 1 lb loss

I am surprised with this good start. 14lb in 22 days is much more than I anticipated. I attribute it to my efforts to get steps in during the workday. I think it is keeping my metabolism up. I'm fully expecting it to slow down some soon but I will take it while I can get it!

    Back from business trip
Ate 3 off plan splurge meals
Now I have until weigh in on Thursday to recover
    Gotta jump back into plan
My goal is to lose only 1 lb this week

I know I could see a bounce back and I'm ok if that happens but I have 4 days to pay the price for the trip
By the way the splurge meals were great and worth it
    But now....back to the plan
14 down and 36 or more to go by my sons wedding on June 9
I'm gonna look good in that new suit!

Congratulations on your son getting married! And glad to hear that whatever you splurged on was thoroughly worth it.

If you are going to splurge it may as well be good. It doesn't sound like too much damage was done Brawny. You'll be looking good at that wedding :)

    Lost mom on Friday
I have found that long walks Saturday and today have made me feel a little better. My mom was a very healthy person and she really hated being ill. She was a person of faith And she told me she wasn't afraid. It was a peaceful end to a life well lived.
She wanted me to get healthy so I am even more determined.

I am so sorry Brawny. Your Mum sounds like she was a very special person. She has given you a good incentive to be as healthy as you can. Sending you lots of love from Tassie to Texas :grouphug:

I'm very sorry to hear about your mom, Brawny. I lost mine October 2015. She was a big inspiration for me starting this journey because she didn't take great care of herself and it led to a shortened life. She was only 56. I'd like a little bit more time than that if I get any say in the matter.

I hope you are able to find a healthy way to cope with the loss and you're on my mind. :)

Thank you friends. Your kind words help.

One good thing is that I have found a release in taking long walks. I did 17500 total steps yesterday

    Today was weigh in day.
    Lost 1 lb
I was wanting 2 because that would have put me at 20lb lost but one is ok. Due to mom's death, people have been bringing food to the house so eating hasn't been perfect but life will normal out soon.
Next week I hope to bust through that 20lb wall.

I find walking really meditative & good therapy. You'll bust that wall any day now.......xo

All for walking to get the old brain to calm down and eventually start healing. More hugs.

Now I hope life can get back to normal.
    Walked 4.5 miles yesterday
    It felt good.
I am almost at 20lb loss
I can hopefully recover from all the food that has been provided during mom's funeral this last weekend and hit that -20 mark. I'm gonna try hard but if it has to wait one more week I will know why.
