One of the most common weight loss programs encountered on the internet and often asked about on this forum is Herbalife.

Herbalife is a program based around meal replacement shakes, bars and other supplements sold by independent reps as part of a MLM scheme.

    Herbalife (The Good)

    • Easy
    • Can work in the short term
    • High Protein

    Herbalife (The Bad)

    • Expensive (Herbalife had a settlement in 2016 for deceptive practices)
    • Side effects ( Hepatotoxicity (liver injury), Allergic reactions, High blood pressure, Hypertension)
    • Contains Soy
    • Contains high levels of sugar
    • Contains Hydrogenated oils
    • Only works while consuming the products, does not teach sustainable healthy diet habits
    • Lots of low quality artificial ingredients

prolonged exposure to Soy Protein Isolate may result in a reduction in your thyroid’s hormone levels, as well as issues with your immune system.

No credible nutritionist, doctor or fitness professional advocates this stuff, only poorly educated and gullible sales people with a vested interest.
